Requiem…
Drama Festival 2008.
07A02’s play: Requiem
For those who don’t know,
Requim is a musical service, hymn, or dirge for the repose of the dead.
and no, I’m not insulting your intelligence.
No, we didnt win.
I’ll be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed.
I was so confident we would win,
I thought the Emcees actually declared Requim the winners.
It was only until I saw my direcetor, Charleston, seated,
with disappointment written all over his face,
that I realised WE LOST.
Chee Xuan won for Best Actress,
and I’m more than happy for her.
But we deserved the Best Play Award.
Its just such a shame that politics had a part to play in the judging process.
*Rolls eyes.
I’m not being a sore loser, really.
Fact is a lot of people thought we ought to win.
But I, nonetheless, congratulate 07A01 for winning.
The teacher’s play, the wall, was a treat.
Although I doubt most people understood what it was about.
It was so Singaporean, which was really funny,
but I guess the audience don’t really know much about plays.
Oh well..
My elder sister, Nisha, came over.
She was sick, mind you.
She came from work, tired.
She came from Yishun, which is very very far.
But she came over to see the performance.
And I was, Oh so happy.
Feels good to know you have an elder sister/sibling who’s proud of you eh?
That’s what she told me.
And it made all the difference.
I was grinning from ear to ear..
It felt good =)
Timothy:There’s a girl here. A teenage girl. The girl I truly liked, not that lady just now. A pretty girl, of average height and long hair… No?
This is definitely my favourite line..
