Taare Zameen Par
Watched Taare Zameen Par (Stars On Earth)
The movie was soooo uplifting.
I cried 7 times.
And I think that, speaks volumes.
I am not gonna spoil the film for those who have not watched it.
All I am going to reveal is that the film is about the struggles of young Ishaan who suffers from dyslexia.
It was quite difficult to believe that the actor playing the main lead in the film is not, in reality, dyslexic.
He was truly, so convincing, he moved me to tears too many times.
I would like to thank Amir Khan, the director of the film
for having made such a beautiful and special film, so close to my heart.
So many times in the film, I was led to moments in my own life.
And it was so rightly captured through the camera lens, I was in tears.
Every parent has a desire to see their children do well in life.
They all want to produce Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Architects.
In other words, they all want to produce children who will win the race of life.
“Beat anyone in it and make sure you remain at the top!” they say repeatedly.
But then why children, breed racehorses!
And those were the exact words used in the film that struck me so hard.
I have been told, time and again, that I am a minority.
And that it would be more difficult for me to make it in this country than any other Chinese or Malay, cos, lets face it: sometimes colour does matter.
Expectations after expectations have been set
and everytime I couldnt fulfill it, I had to face the music.
It was normal for me to see my teachers shocked, during parent-teacher interactions.
Shocked at the sky-high standards my dad set for me.And I know my dad definitely was affected by what the movie said, otherwise he would not have said what he said after the film.
And I think I speak on behalf of all children (for whom the movie was made) when I say that the movie was truly spectacular, in every sense of the word and a true reflection of how some of us feel under similar circumstances.
Thank You!
Truly, every child is Special…
