A Spot Of Bother
As promised, Im gonna blog about a book today.
Only 1 book, I think the previous blog entry on movie reviews was a little too much, yeah?
A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon

I read his prize-winning novel, the curious incident of the dog in the night-time. Enjoyed the read.
I have autistic friends and its difficult to understand them.
Of course, there was much heated debate over whether Haddon understood the complex intricacies of autism but I think he put it all very well.
The book was about Christopher and his love for mathematics and, as the name suggests, the investigation of the murder of a dog.
I think it gave me a good insight into the mind of an autistic kid. His train of thoughts, their passion for a particular subject, the uniqueness of their personality etc.
A spot of bother is a story about George, a hypochondriach, his family and the events that take place after his recent retirement. His mental state deteriorates (caution: spoiler ahead) and he slowly slips into dementia.
His writing tecniques are pretty cool. He’s got a unique style.
So, I highly recommend this book, go read it if you can.
