Joy?

Joy is walking to school in the crisp morning air with your friend for life.

Joy is coming back home to a bubbly sister who has bought a packet of Famous Amos cookies and milk to share with you.

Joy is discovering that she has already devoured them in a fit of impatience, having waited hours for you to finish napping and showering.

Joy is studying with her, watching her make funny faces, listening to her rants and silly comments about almost everything under the sun.

Joy is teaching your dog ‘Fetch’ while exasperatedly trying to stop her from doing any further damage to the half-eaten ball.

Joy is having your mum back home after a long day’s work, feeding you mooncakes, asking you about your day.

Joy is praying, singing songs of Praise, crawling into bed later to ‘rest’.

Joy is to secretly watch your mum tip-toe into the room later to check on you assuming you’re fast asleep, cover you with a blanket, look at you with motherly affection and then tip-toe back into her room.

Joy is waking up tomorrow knowing that His mercies are brand new each morning and that there are whole new opportunies to glorify Him.

This is Joy.
