Starfield – Beauty in the Broken

The weekly bitching session with hosts, Tan Jia Yi and Ong Yu Kai.
It was super hilarious, I tell you.
Last week was about you-know-who… and this week we did a very random, last minute fashion show with everything that we could find in JJ Affinity.

But I dressed so horrendously it looked like a ‘mismatch’ fashion show. LOL
The best part was when I tried on this ’strap on’ skirt with a white jacket and as I walked out onto the ramp, the skirt fell off.
OF COURSE I WAS WEARING SOMETHING UNDERNEATH, DOOFUS! Hehe.
(I was wearing my school skirt underneath; the scramble behind-the-scenes didn’t permit me to take it off, so I had to strap it over)
Jia Yi called out “Fashion Police, arrest her!” HAHA

Those were fun times.
We’ll do something different next week, I hope..

My dad told me something very insightful today.
Just before I set off for care group today, he requested me to share a testimony.

The Testimony:
A few Sundays ago, my dad and I headed out for church.
And my dad, being the miser that he is, was looking for a free parking spot on Arab Street because you have to pay parking at Suntec.
And you know how difficult it is to get a FREE PARKING SPOT.
So my dad started praying and he claimed a spot for himself and said He would have to grant us one because we were going to praise and worship Him in His house.
We got one IMMEDIATELY.

So back to where I was.
He asked me to tell my care group that testimony and I thought “Well, yeah. At the expense of sounding absurd and stupid.” cos people give testimonies about how they got saved, how they were healed from cancer, how their life changed inside-out and how God’s grace has been on their lives etc.
I thought that if I were to give such a testimony I would just sound stupid.

But here’s what he told me:

I know its not a life changing, earth shaking, mind boggling testimony.
It isnt dramatic, its trivial, its small, its petty.
But I believe that Christ, God exists in the smallest of matters.
And that’s the testimony.

Coincidentally, my care group leader asked us to share about the faith we have in God over small things in life.
And I shared this.
He works in mysterious ways
